Excerpts from the “Byzantine Chants”, sacred concerto for a solo cello by Margarita Zelenaia: April 29th, 2014

On April 29th, at 8pm at the St. Peter’s Church in New York (53rd St. and Lexington) Andrey Tchekmazov, a cellist, will be performing three excerpts from the “Byzantine Chants”, sacred concerto for a solo cello by Margarita Zelenaia.

Among them:

The Great Litany,

Arioso/The Eternal Harmony of the Soul,

The Holiday Hymn.

The “Byzantine Chants” were written specifically for Mr. Tchekmazov. In the year of 2009 he performed its world premiere, and since then the concerto is in his repertoire.
